If someone is happy with themselves everyone around them can feel it and I think THAT is beautiful. One was teen oriented and an actress in her 20s was telling her diet secrets. Her breakfast is 107 calories and her lunch & dinner are 200 calories each. OKKKKKKKKKKK.
Next mag explained that a certain actress had BLOWN UP to 150 pounds.
Next mag wants to know if I think Jessica Simpson is "thick" ?

We are the problem, women, we buy into all this so much. In a lousy economy everyone is still buying $6 fashion mags.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6403384531250069062.post-62537739033903574722009-01-27T02:08:00.000-08:002009-01-27T02:08:00.000-08:00This post hit home, Cyn! I'm 59 and although I'm happy with how I look for my age, I'm 59. My boss, who made the decision to hire me, is 52 and a woman. In the past year there were a number of new hires in our department, including a 20-something who spends every spare minute at the gym. She has a cute figure and dresses beautifully and at first I thought she'd be great. I was soon proven wrong. She's immature and highly neurotic. In her first 6 months with the company, she threatened to go to HR and file a complaint against her supervisor, a woman in her 60's, after being told that she'd have to work a minimum of 40 hours per week like all other salaried employees. She argued this was not fair, because she was able to do her work in less than 40 hours. We are chronically understaffed and everyone is overworked, but it didn't occur to her to simply ask for more work. When she doesn't get her way she weeps (I'm not kidding) and pouts and scowls and carries on, and generally acts like a 14 year old. But guess who was identified as a "rising star" within the company at our recent annual performance reviews by the middle aged white guys who supervise us...yep, you got it...not any of the actual workhorses, but this young woman in her pointy shoes and size 4 suits. Although we're all part of R&D, for the most part I don't have to work directly with her, and I'm grateful for that. But I wish we were rated strictly on our performance, and not on our looks. That is simply not the case.emmapeelDallashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05045502725282481075noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6403384531250069062.post-24944694741693989102009-01-26T21:48:00.000-08:002009-01-26T21:48:00.000-08:00Our culture has become so shallow...so oriented to...Our culture has become so shallow...so oriented towards prettiness and "pleasantness." What ever happened to the old adage about beauty being only skin deep. As women, we most often want to look our best...play up our best sides and minimize the rest. But it shouldn't mean the difference between getting work and going hungry.Lisa :-]https://www.blogger.com/profile/02237889098638895390noreply@blogger.com
