I feel so lucky and privileged to see this. In my lifetime...I'm 59...well, my ex was a law clerk to the first black federal judge, James B. Parsons, who was appointed by President Kennedy. When Judge Parsons was appointed, he couldn't attend the Annual Judicial Conferences because he couldn't stay in the hotels, and I think it was difficult to fly on commercial airlines. This was in the early 60's, in the north. So to see Obama be elected President now...well, this really is history in the making, and it's WONDERFUL.

I am thrilled. Not only is the Bush era coming to a close, but we have elected an intelligent man who I believe can steady the course of this country and help us to re-earn the respect of the world. I'm feeling pride in being American...something I haven't felt in a long time.
