FRIDAY PHOTO

So, it's a day early. I took this picture of a lupine in the planter on the porch last month after the rain stopped. And then shifted the picture to black and white. I love the contrasts of the shapes of the leaves and the water droplets. Moving to black and white seems to accent the textures.

But I would love to see the color, too.

I'm waiting for the l=red lupine to bloom next. It should be spectacular this year.

I love lupines. I loved the flower spikes, and the foliage was always nice, but in my garden in Springfield, they always got powdery mildew and croaked after the flowers faded... Pissed me off.

It probably wouldn't have occured to me to try this in black and white. It really does accentuate the texture. Very, very nice.
