It's almost automatic. When we put chicken, as in whole chicken on the list, we head for the fridge to check the veggie bin. Carrots, celery, cabbage, 'shrooms, peppers (this time?) and the pantry (do we finally have buy tomatoes?) because that chicken carcass is going in the pot. If that bird still had a cackle when it reached the store mom would figure out how to use that too.

AMEN!

Because we know what to do a chicken lasts the two of us at least a week depending on how we do it. The bird can be a little pricy up front, but so is soup in a can or frozen entrees. And just as important; we know what went in the pot.
I was given an award and I am to pass the award on. I have chosen this blog as one of the blogs I am passing the award on to. The award can be found at my blog in today's post and I have listed the rules there as well.
Best wishes

I wonder how we want to do this? Check out the award at Aine's blog. Should each of us post ten things that make us happy? I think that would be a very worthwhile exercise. Perhaps the first one to do it should post the award itself, then the rest of us could just post our responses?
Reminds me of my weekly "ten good things" posts of...well, long ago, it seems. Before we bought the restaurant, and before AOL j-land bit the dust. But I digress.
I would like to invite everyone to post ten things that make them happy. It might take awhile for me to gather mine together... ;)
A chicken in every pot! A large pot with lots of veggies. Yes.
Lisa, my first thought on the Happiness meme/challenge/award was you ... and your ten good things once a week. Or not. he he
